I feel like I need to share a little train of thought that just went through my mind.
I love to see God working in me.
Sitting here at my desk, contemplating preparedness when old Hank Williams Jr. popped into my head singing “A Country Boy Can Survive”. The line that says “we can run a trout line” is specifically what I heard.
Now, I always have a notebook sitting at my left hand ready to write, it’s an old habit. Anymore its main purpose in life if for me to doodle, and write random thoughts, and when I am thinking and writing I tend to write a letter, and then trace over several times. Well I was going to write the question “Can you run a trout line”. I wrote the C, and went over it and over it and over it for a little while, then moved over to the a and made the loop for the a, and over that a few times, when to make the hook on the a and found that somehow I had added a slash to the C, making it a G, had not added the hook to the a yet, so I had an o. So it seemed plane enough to me that when you have a Go you don’t mess it up, but rather just add the D like he wants you too. God…
Anyway, my realization was that through all of this, God does not desire that we let up on what we are doing to prepare for any kind of disaster that may occur, but at the same time he remain our primary focus.
Yes, I can run a trout line, and today as I think about that and other things, I must also weigh the idea of Gods hand in all of this.
God Bless All
Absolutely we must keep Jesus as our primary focus. We cannot focus on the endtimes more that we focus on Jesus, or our level of preparedness more than the One we are preparing for. Let us not lose sight of the ONE! HE is why we are here and what we do all this for. He alone is the ONE, forever to be our ONETHING. The only focus of our hearts. The only desire of our affections. We must focus on nothing more that we focus on HIM. No matter how seemingly good those other thoughts may be, He is our best thought!
I was in the middle of trying to figure-out if I was running my line the proper way when, for some reason, I was sent to this post. I just want to say thank-you for wasting my time. I love how I’m deep into a project & the next thing I know I’m getting a lesson in religion. Thank-you for helping me dislike religion even more. God bless : )
Pete, my friend
I am not sure how you would have been “sent to this post” without clicking on a link somewhere.
I am sorry it didn’t contain the information you were looking for, but maybe there is something here for you anyway.
Though this site was started by a group of people, all of the same faith, it’s not a Religious forum by any means, and are not here trying to evangelize, or teach. However, I am sure any one of us would be willing to share our faith with you.
I love to talk Trout lines, or any other hunting, fishing, shooting or other outdoor activity with you. No strings attached.
